Here at Gloucester City Homes (GCH), we’re seeking a qualified Electrician to join our PropertyCare team, delivering essential repairs, maintenance and testing services to homes across the Gloucester area. Working within social housing, you'll play a vital role in keeping customers safe by carrying out electrical inspections, repairs and installations across occupied and void properties.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll undertake a range of electrical works including:
- EICRs and electrical testing
- Reactive and planned maintenance repairs
- Void property works
- Rewires and electrical installations
- Door entry servicing and repairs
- Emergency lighting testing and maintenance
You'll be trusted to work independently while also being part of a supportive and experienced team committed to delivering an excellent service to customers.
What We're Looking For
To be successful, you'll have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- AM2 Practical Assessment
- City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations)
- Experience of domestic inspection and testing
- Basic IT skills and confidence using mobile technology
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- A positive, proactive approach to work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A full UK driving licence
The following are desirable, or applicants must be willing to achieve them during their probation period:
- City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection & Testing qualifications
- ECS Gold Card (Qualified/Approved Electrician status)
- Previous experience of working in social housing
